The Utah Retired School Employees Association is
a non-profit organization that was chartered in
1944 to organize and establish a body of retired
educators that could work together as a
coalition to protect and to enhance benefits for
individuals receiving retirement benefits from
the Utah’ Retirement System. The Utah Retired
School Employees Association is the only
membership organization in Utah devoted solely
to protecting the interests of retired
educators, and continues to promote the
professional, social and economic welfare of all
Utah retired educators.
The association’s office is located at 5275
Windsor Lane, Highland, UT 84003. There are
fourteen local unit associations located
throughout the state each with a local unit
president. The association holds two meetings
each year: A Leadership Meeting in May, and an
Annual Meeting in October, The Utah Retired
School Employees Association is made up of a
nine member Executive Board and an Executive
Director which are all volunteer positions.
The association encourages all retired educators
to join. An associate membership is also offered
to those who have an interest in education in
Utah. Every association member receives four
newsletters each year that contain information
on current and pending issues of interest and
importance to the membership.
Each retired school employee has unique goals
and interests, but all are concerned about their
retirement and benefits. The collective efforts
of the Utah Executive Board, and many volunteers
have been directed toward the protection and
enhancement of retirement and benefits. In
conjunction with district and local units, URSEA
promotes activities that support the members and
their communities by offering social,
informational and service opportunities. Many
members of the association also join
NRTA, AARP’s Educator Community, and
AARP.
Through the years, the members of the Utah
Retired School Employees Association have worked
together to create a strong, viable, and
professional organization, and the association
looks forward to carrying this legacy far into
the future. If you have any questions about
URSEA, please contact us.
